LOOK I AM LEARNING ARTS!

Oh god, this is going to be worse than Art Deco. In terms of posting every five minutes, I mean! Because, um, I have more to learn? ALSO ENTHUSIASM!

The thing: trying to paint Spock Prime/Gaila in the style of Klimt, for anodyna. Which, I have always loved Klimt but I have very limited painting experience and no real training AND NOW anodyna IS TEACHING ME TECHNIQUES AND IT IS MIRACULOUS.



Back a few days ago I asked anodyna about painting green people and she said "Impressionist Color Theory! warm next to cool = luminosity."

OMG I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED SOONER because about an hour ago I went and searched out a hi-res image of Klimt portraiture and he does this thing with, um, little stringy brushstrokes of colors next to each other and I tried it and OMG!

Yes, never mind that the colors are still a little weird, HER FOREHEAD IS STARTING TO GLOW!


What do you mean, I should be writing my literature paper. Hrmph.

Fascinating. Sounds like a rather time-intensive technique but the results are WOW! Her forehead is looking marvellous already. :D

So back on...Wednesday? I was gonna disclaim the whole thing about it being time-intensive but you know what, I TAKE IT ALL BACK, it is apparently quite time-intensive. Fun though!

OMG her forehead! There are at least three dimensions on that forehead, awesome!

I feel I should disclaim, that bit about Impressionist color theory? Is the totality of what I know about painting. However I'm determined to learn to use the Wacom tablet so maybe I'll be able to at least draw something. Drawing of something, yay!

Have I mentioned how amazing this thing is already? IT IS AMAZING!
