lymanalpha: (blancmange!)

Dear [ profile] anodyna,
I am sorry.
I do not think this is quite what you had in mind.
Please do not worry, I have no intention of becoming a pastry chef, EVER.
So Spock Prime is safe.

Here is a blancmange! I made it.

But it is not only a blancmange; it is also...

...the Enterprise, which has traveled through vast expanses of purple...

...and sometimes also pink...

Photobucket get to spaaaace.

In space there are FRIENDLY TENTACLES!

And in conclusion, I had blancmange for dinner.

That is terrifying. I like it.

You should come eat it. It is very sweet, also very rose-water-y. Do you like rosewater?

I'm not especially fond of rosewater, no. That's what flavors Turkish delight, isn't it?
That said, I'm quite curious.

Don't think I've ever had Turkish delight. Does it taste like roses? This tastes like roses. VERY MUCH, but anyway you should come try it.

EEEEEE! Blancmange success!! *\o/*

(BTW The Enterprise one is what they serve at the wedding reception for the polygamous marriage of Jim Kirk and the six Orions who molested him after the banquet for Spock Prime and Gaila.

The tentacles one is for, um, your marriage to the pink tentacles?)

I ate my wedding tentacles for breakfast. They were delicious. (Well, still sweet & super-rosey, but I think it tastes better today!)

And now I will confuse you with fraternal-twin icon.

Would it be wrong if I just had a nerdgasm? There is dessert AND Star Trek AND tentacles?!?!?! OMG

Geek deserts FTW.
(And it would be just the perfect thing for this hilarious parody of ST that we have, where each and every member of the ship is gay :D. )

When [ profile] ontd_startrek has their weekly "postTrek-themed crafts/food/etc you've made" post you should totally link them to this gloriousness.

Also, next time, add a drop or two of lemon extract and replace 1/3 of the milk with yogurt, for a slightly tangy lemon-rose blancmange. At least, that's my conjecture -- I haven't made that yet. But I've made lemon-rose flavored dishes of various sorts including panna cotta, and the lemon tartness plays against the rose sweetness beautifully.

I must admit I've been a little afraid of [ profile] ontd_startrek because ENTHUSIASM, THEY HAVE IT. However, I will make every attempt to get over myself!

And thank you so much for the advice! It did come out sweeter than I'd like, I think, and I am SOOO not enough of a cook to know what to do about that, without advice. :D

It is in fact delicious!

Also I HAVE BEEN EATING IT FOR THREE DAYS NOW. (I finished the octopus and ate one nacelle. However tomorrow I may go off in search of HELP, because I do not think I can finish the Enterprise all by myself. OH WOE AND AGONY)
